About Me

I'm a 20-something who lives in Pittsburgh with my wonderful husband, J, and our 2 cats and 2 dogs.  We've been living together for about 4.5 years now, and married for about a year and a half.

We got into a dinner rut really quickly.  We never planned what to eat, and we'd stand in the kitchen for 30+ minutes trying to decide, only to end up with the same old... same old being grilled/baked chicken or pork, steamed veggies, pasta, rice, baked potatos.

I started frequenting a cooking board and noticed a lot of the women on there had cooking blogs.  I started to branch out in my cooking, and finally decided to start my own.  I thought this would be a great way push me to try new things, so that I could blog about them.  This is also a great way for me to store recipes.

I didn't start meal planning right away, but I'm so glad that I finally did.  J and I do our grocery shopping once a week.  I do prep on Sundays when it's needed, and no more 30+ minutes of debating what to eat that night.  I know J loves it!  We have great meals that don't get boring.

I do try to cook healthy, and I think I'm slowly getting better at it and trying out new things.  I try to do a meatless meal at least once a week, in order to save money.

Enjoy the blog!  Let me know if you have questions about any of the recipes, and feel free to comment!

And if you're in the mood from some random musings, check out my other blog, Train to Nowhere.  It's where I blog about random things going on in my life, in the news, or in my head. :)
