Italian Herb Bread

I haven't made bread in a long time, but I thought, I have all day, might as well give it a try.

I found this recipe for Italian Herb bread and thought it would go really well with the Cannelloni.

My husband loved it, but then, he is a huge fan of any and all bread. I thought it was pretty good. My only complaint is that the bread machine makes the crust really thick. I'm not a big fan of crust, so I just pulled it off and ate the inside. :)

If you have a bread machine, this is extremely easy to make. It says to try to use the freshest ingredients you can find. I admit, I didn't get everything fresh, but it was still good!

Ingredients:7/8 c buttermilk (or 3 T dry buttermilk powder and 7/8 c water)
2 c bread flour
1 t salt
1 T vegetable oil
2 t sugar
1/3 c freshly grated imported Parmesan cheese (I bought pre-packaged grated Parm)
1/4 t dried basil
1/4 t dried oregano
1 1/2 t Red Star brand active dry yeast

Directions:
Place all ingredients in the bread pan, select light crust setting and press start. After the baking cycle ends, remove bread from pan and allow to cool for about 1 hour before slicing.
